It marries the story to a visual element RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 29/06/2012 07:29:46 PM
It's for the same reason many fans want to see a live-action adaptation. It brings the story to life in a way that imagination sometimes can't for some people.

I wasn't a fan of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, but the movies opened the door to games and a re-invigoration of interest in the series. I often think imagination is often better for some series.

Anyway, I like the idea of graphic novels, having read some very good manga and comic books growing up, but the version used for "The Wheel of Time" just doesn't work for me. The dialogue is flat, the artwork is too blunt and not realistic enough and they sacrifice the expansive, classical style needed to really sell the story in a way good cover art could do.
