and couldn't just redisperse between the tainted and untainted saidin. I'd always imagined once that bit of saidin was clean it would need to be retainted rather than the cleansing being one big exercise in serial dilutions
It's always called something along the lines of a "oily coating"
oil has several properties that don't have to all be present.
