I agree that I'd like to see the notes. I don't think Harriet will allow it, and honestly, in her position, I don't think I would either.

I think people would find that there's a lot of bluffing and blustering to an author's presentation of a work like this, and the hardcore theory geeks would be pretty upset that their pet theories are far more intricate and self-corroborating than RJ's notes are likely to be.

I do agree that Sanderson uses contemporary English WAY, WAY too much in his bits of the last 3 books. Mat's personality changes pretty drastically. He talks like he was ripped from a modern sitcom. I think he could have made a better effort at aping Jordan's style rather than trying to put his own stamp on things. Maybe Harriet told him to go ahead and do that, but I think most fans would have preferred he not.
