It's a tempest in a teacup Tom Send a noteboard - 30/01/2013 05:40:15 AM
Wheel of Time is something that was fun back in the 1990s. It brought me to wotmania, I met a great bunch of people, the author then died, and the series was finished by Sanderson. Do I think, on further reflection, that he did a terrible job? Yes, I guess I agree with Luckers. On the other hand, I didn't really expect much even if Jordan himself had finished it. Jordan himself let the fans down with the shit he was churning out (notably Crossroads of Twilight). Luckers comes off as a douche for harassing Sanderson, but it all just seems like a tempest in a teacup. None of this will mean anything a year from now. This series will just fade, and in 10 years I doubt anyone will bother reading it. It may become a cautionary tale for fantasy and sci-fi writers, a sort of list of what not to do.

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

– Procopius
