A misconception that the fact Shai'tan who didn't observe closely enough thought Lan dead and gloated about it, but Rand looked more closely and noticed he was still alive meant that Rand has done something to resurrect Lan, presumably.

My memory isn't great on this point, I'll have to re-read, but might it be implied that he saved Lan, his former teacher? Would definitely fit the narrative.

He's not the Creator or DO to resurrect people.

He merely points out Shai'tan has not paid enough attention and gloats too soon, that Lan appeared dead but isn't.


I don't know, I think it's strongly implied by the end that Rand has gained Creator-like control over the Pattern. I wonder how literally his statement should be taken. I could see it either way.
