Though from reading AMoL it seemed like there was a lot of setup for it intentionally, or unintentionally.
Naturally you have Mat and Tuon. However, it seemed like Min being thrown in adds to the story. You have Elaida aka Suffa. You also have the lone surviving Forsaken Moghidien as well all with the Seanchan. Seems like it was being set up.
