Now obviously I'm not one of these people who writes extended essays on this series, but I don't think the Dark One would have the power to take anyone's souls into his prison with him. Souls are threads in the Pattern, and the Dark One was sealed outside the Pattern by Rand. I suspect that the only reason the Forsaken were "sealed" away with the Dark One the previous time was because the Bore wasn't really sealed, but just patched (due to the failure of the female Aes Sedai of the Age of Legends to go along with the men). As a result, the Forsaken were somehow in a stasis from which they were able to break free after the Seals began to weaken. However, the Dark One is now cut off from the Pattern again, as during the Age of Legends, sealed properly. I don't think anything from the Pattern can truly exist in the Dark One's world.


The DO's ability to hold onto souls should only last while the Bore existed. (He could, efffectively, keep the souls from being reborn into the Pattern). But, even Balefire doesn't completely remove a soul from being reborn forever, according to RJ. RJ also said that the Wheel repeats itself, with minor changes on each turning. So, when the next AoL came, you would need all the major players back in place. (or at least their souls) If their souls were missing from the Pattern, how would they be reintroduced?
