The mistakes of wotmania were repeated here. One could argue that Facebook sapped the community. And possibly it did.

But many WOT fans transitioned from posting/replying only about WOT to posting about other things and becoming part of a wider Community because the board was one. Then they were split off. Into a ghetto from which they didn't need to come out of. And the community ossified. Wotmania was already dying before Mike decided that if he couldn't play with this toy then no one else should.

And now the series is done. The theories are gone. And the posts have gone too. One wonders why the boards are not all integrated into one board in order to try and save what can be saved.

But perhaps it is death that they seek. If so, they are going about finding it perfectly.
