LTT's personality was basically put by the Wheel into Rand, since Rand needs LTT memories, experiences and maybe some kind of guide (it's quite a luck that LTT died when he was just Healed by Ishy from his complete madness).
IMO, e.g. the swirling ta'veren colors are another device of the Wheel, like also Min's Viewings or Wolfbrothers are.
