Yeah... I still poke my nose in every so often, but the site's mostly dead. *NM* beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 01/05/2014 02:22:29 PM

With the conclusion of the Wheel of Time I can see that this fate for this forum was not unexpected for this forum. To be empty and vacant, echoes of the past lingering.

Really a continuation of the days of the old Wotmania site. I can remember hanging out, mostly lurking, catching the news prior to the Path of Daggers release.

Plenty of fun times over there. Then after several years Mike's life caught up with him, and he decided to shut it down. Thankfully Neb created his own site, and took over to give us a new home. I remember the chat room party up until they pulled the plug.

Then we came to our shiny and new home at read and find out. Most of us made the transition. We lost a few along the way. The forums would quiet down in between books, but now that A Memory of Light is out, this is not unexpected.

In many ways it is sad, and yet a reaffirmation of the change we all go through. We drift away, old friends become more distant, and new things preoccupy our time.

All in all though, regardless of what we may feel towards the Wheel of Time at the end, one truth remains. It was that common bond that common interest that forged friendships, and fueled debate. Regardless of one's opinion those friendships that have persevered because of a simple story make this all worthwhile. Even if there is a lingering sadness as I think of what was.

Perhaps its my way of saying farewell. Perhaps just my way of leaving one final mark on this forum before it inevitably gets closed.

I would like to say thank you all. To those who were there during the glory days of wotmania. To those who continued the debates and discussions here on readandfindout. A thank you for the theories, and random community discussions. A thank you for making a memorable book series even all the better.

It was never the quality of the books alone, but the community that sprang up because of them. You guys/gals will be missed. If I have to say I had any regrets...it was that some of us never got to see the end.

Fare thee well peeps from wotmania, and readandfindout!

I amuse myself.
