He might realize that there really is no "victory" with the Dark One in charge, and that the Dark One is so far beyond human conception that he was foolish or insane to even think he knew what It is.

I have always believed that Ishy has been a double agent all along and that his betrayal of the Shadow will be one of the defining moments of the last battle.
