It was a redemption sort of plotline.

I brought up the mole option in my response.

I'm not sure if I think the story ever really supported the option for redemption for the Forsaken, RJ seemed to have been bent on making them pretty much irredeemable which is why I went to "mole" rather than redemption story. Sanderson made Demandred more sympathetic when he took over IMO.
