Damned if you do, damned if you don't. A series this big, bound to have its problems with story arc. *NM*

Mysteries aren't story arcs and the Moraine's return hasn't gotten 2 or 3 chapters each book where they take a bath, discuss Moraine, some other noble agrees Moraine needs rescuing, but another disagrees, so they can't do anything yet, but it's very important.
Mat meeting Tuon wouldn't have fitted the story if he stumbled across her in LOC.
Really there are two that draggedddd - Perrin and Faile and Elayne for Andor. And I think RJ was damned to some extent no matter how he did it. Fans weren't happy with no Perrin in TFOH, or no Mat in TPOD.
Both these storylines would (IMO) have worked better if they'd been absent from one or two of the books - with more chapters in the ones left in.
So you could have had Perrin go to Ghealdan at the end of ACOS. So him next in WH, with the capturing of Faile at the end of that. Not seen in COT, then the whole rescue in KOD. Elayne travels to Andor in TPOD, not seen in WH, then everything in COT (the only change I think that would have been required is no clue about where Aviendha left to, since we get that - Arad Doman - from Rand in KOD).
So you'd have had the same storylines, but a decent amount happening in each book they are in. Though if that had occurred I'd expect RJ would have copped grief for leaving out favourite characters instead.

The best love interest arc by far was Rand & Aviendha

Yeah. Elayne saw Rand for 15 minutes and was suddenly in love with him
