I'm not sure... ursidae Send a noteboard - 15/10/2009 09:28:00 PM
... I would like to get a new statement regarding the feasibility of getting the first draft finished this year (which he basically needs to do in order to be able to publish it next fall, according to what he wrote earlier). The progress seems to have been slow since the progress bar for book 13 first appeared. Yes, I know he have been partly occupied with other things, but even so. Considering that there may be more "gaps" in the story he needs to fill compared with the previous material I'm not that confident he will be able to complete it in time.

Last year at the same time Brandon juggled with revising the first draft of story line #1, and finishing story line #2. In december, he was seemingly into story line #3 and editing previous parts.

A good chunk of the work he and Harriet did between late november and early 2009 turned out not to be for TGS after all. When the book was split, he shelved this and turned to polish up what would be in TGS, writing chapters from story lines 3-4-5_misc. he'd need etc.

The progress bar from last year were for AMOL as a whole, so they're not even relevant.

It's far better to simply trust Brandon's own assessment that he's more and more confident he'll make the deadline to get a book out in 2010... He usually is very close to dead on about his schedule (Warbreaker, his YA stuff, revising WoK, how much of AMOL he would write before Jan. 2009 etc., he was always dead on on his evaluations).

Thanks. It would be useful to know where TGS stood at this time last year.... *NM* - 15/10/2009 12:32:53 PM 122 Views

Right. He'll also presumably be taking a break from writing while touring. - 15/10/2009 09:38:06 PM 282 Views
