It would make sense that the test is keyed to the abilities and strenght of the Accepted taking it. The Tower would love to have every candidate to be forsaken strength channelers but that is not going to happen.

An Aes Sedai needs to be a minimum strenght otherwise she does not get called for the test. Once that minimum strenght level is reached I think that the Tower want to be sure that the would be Aes Sedai can deal with pressure, react calmly in a crises and multi task.

I would imagine that its also to give the candidates a sense of self assurance. After surviving a life or death situation you would be better armed emotionally to deal with some petty noble giving you grief or take charge of a gang of merchants squabbling over some trade issue. If you have been through the fire and survived I would guess that minor crises registere exactly as that - minor in comparison and you are not overwhelmed by the problem.

That being said I wonder how Shemerin managed to pass the test?

She was there for Moiraine's AS test, and... Egwene's Accepted one. - 21/10/2009 11:28:40 PM 669 Views
Personal interest in Moiraine & Elayne. That reason was cited in tDR - they used the same sisters *NM* - 22/10/2009 11:22:37 AM 303 Views
But Elayne was tested at the same time as Egwene. - 22/10/2009 05:56:34 PM 696 Views
