I can't see how Graendal would have predicted that Rand would balefire a whole palace Matrimony Cauthon Send a noteboard - 29/10/2009 05:06:51 PM
Rand went insane, and thus totally unpredictable.

Shaidar Haran and Moridin set Rand up, told him about balefire, gave him the access key, and had him tortured until he was forced to draw on the True Power.

I think Graendal was used as a pawn in their plan to turn Rand to the dark, nothing more. Unless Graendal was privy to their plans, I don't see how she could have foreen any of the events that happened to her.

And why should Graendal not be privy to their plans? Semi was the pawn. *NM* - 29/10/2009 05:52:11 PM 226 Views
because Rand decided right at that moment *NM* - 29/10/2009 05:55:30 PM 244 Views
Nope. The plan had been building. He has obviously been giving thought to what to do to defeat her. *NM* - 29/10/2009 06:11:45 PM 226 Views

I think it was Moghedien that was balefired in Natrin's Barrow fortress/palace, not Graendal. - 30/10/2009 02:56:53 AM 517 Views
Interesting idea. Definitely possible. *NM* - 30/10/2009 03:06:04 AM 255 Views
