Zombies? Really? caltman Send a noteboard - 02/11/2009 12:28:11 PM
Like everyone else, excepting perhaps Cannoli, I really enjoyed this book and the discussion here. Great to have an outlet like this when you finish a book so anticipated and unlikely (when you consider the loss of RJ). I for one would really have missed wotmania if we didn't have RAFO.

My main gripe: Mat and Thom fight the zombies of Hinterstrap. Seems like everyone, including Star Wars recently, needs a little more zombie in their life. It seems to be the newest fad in literature and entertainment. We get it: the DO is touching the world. Weird things are happening. Didn't need the zombies.

Anyone else think that this was too much? Maybe I'm just too sensitive to zombiemania.

My favorite part: Egwene. I liked her from the start but have been pretty tired of her storyline since she found Gawyn in Cairhien several books back. Obviously back with a vengeance. I had always described WOT as a story about Mat, Perrin, and Rand with the girls as a distraction. No more; this is obviously the story of Rand and Egwene at this point.

At least there weren't any vampires. Or werewolves. *NM* - 04/11/2009 05:44:52 PM 241 Views
