  • Rand, earlier in the book, wonders constantly how Lews Therin sealed the Dark One. They came to the agreement that usingcuendillar seals are imperfect. I get the feeling that Rand's ultimate sacrifice will be using his own soul as the seal--effectively removing himself from the pattern, and thus any connection the Dark One's prison has to our world.
  • I'm sure there are plenty of other issues to discuss here, and I'll surely add as I think of them. I finished the book not an hour ago, and I'm still reeling!

Using TP to seal the DO is like using Fire to burn Apollo and Water to drown Poiseidon. Sure you can do anything in a fiction, but it just doesn't seem right.

I actually don't think Rand's soul need to be removed from pattern. If you think of the Pattern itself as the DO's prison, as soul are the threads of the Pattern, Rand need to stay inside the pattern for all time to seal the DO.

I actually believe Rand's soul is already being used as the most important part of the prison, the front door. And that is the reason the Shadow keeps trying to convert Rand. If they kill Rand, he can be used by the Wheel and keep the door shut. Converting Rand will allow the DO to walk out the front door and do what he wishes.
