... but I recall that Tuon still wore the veil at that stage, and Rand didn't really see her face.


Tuon was "under the veil", meaning she choose not to utilize her official capacity as the DoNM, merely as her personal capacity as High Lady Tuon.But she is not physically using a veil in Mat's travel.
