I feel like what happened in tGS took him back to Winter's Heart Rand.

Mo's return will take him back to Fires of Heaven Rand


(I'm not saying he should trust Aes Sedai, but he does need some people who won't try to manipulate him and that he knows won't try to manipulate him and Moiraine's that to him now)
