I don't think Rand actually cleansed Saidin of the taint? Silence_DoGood Send a noteboard - 13/11/2009 01:26:27 AM
I read that at one of Brandon Sanderson's signings he told everyone that fans would look upon Crossroads of Twilight differently once the series was finished. That got me thinking, and here is my theory...All Asha'Man are channeling the True Power.

I think that during the cleansing some how Saidin was switched with the True Power. Perhaps it was the DO doing the switch or perhaps Rand accidentally did it. Rand would be the only person still touching saidin because he was holding such a large amount of it during the cleansing.

That would explain why all the Asha'man in CoT were walking around talking about, "something feeling different". It would be different because it was different. Since Rand would be the only person in the world tapping into saidin the taint would be that much stronger, which would be why Rand gets sick every time he touches the source.

I'm curious to read what people think of this theory, whether or not it is possible or not.
