So yes, I am quite sure that we WILL see that reunion.
Yes, recall that in the second half of KoD we hear from Elayne's perspective that Rand is hopping around all the time, but no more information is given. Then in tGS we find out what that was about.
I am sure that in the next book we'll get full disclosure on what Mat and Perrin were up to. I just hope we don't go back to only a glimpse of Rand again, like we had in CoT and KoD.
