Yes, but first Rand would need to know where the Trollocs are. He would also need to be sure there are no channelers with them, and that a stray arrow doesn't just take him out.
Hence letting the loyal Asha'man locate them and them and their bonded AS protect him - similar situation to the Cleansing, except it'd be over much quicker (and given the ranks of the forsaken are thinned) with minimal risk.
