The people who object to the Song seem to think the Nym were the only "real" participants in the growing ceremony.

Arguing about whether the Tinkers will consider Singing as the Song is irrelevant. The ability to Sing seemed to be a trait specific to Aiel males. Tinker males are all that's left of them.
