I have never understood the Messy = Laras theory. Verin has certainly put that to rest. I like Laras.

I have thought for some time that she was probably an agent for the Kin. In Ebou Dar, when Vandene told Elayne about the Kin,that the AS had always known they existed and the AS used them to catch runaways and look after wilders too old for the WT, she said that no one got off the island without the help of the Kin.

That means someone in the WT itself must help the runaways. It could not be AS, so must be a servant. I think this person is Laras.

Since she apparently has a trapdoor for this purpose.
