Mashadar is not Machin Shin PatAtt Send a noteboard - 21/11/2009 02:22:31 PM
Is it possible that after Mashadar destroyed Sammael, that Padan Fain gained the ability to take on his form in order to command Trollocs and etc? We've seen ridiculously creepy things done before by Padan Fain (blowing up like a balloon and etc) and I just think that since Mashadar is still in the Ways, perhaps this is an additional power he has gained.

Machin Shin is the Black Wind in the ways. When it gets close, you can hear voices (presumably the voices of souls that it has stolen).

Mashadar is a fog in Shadar Logoth that is a residue of the hate of Aridhol that can consume people.

Padan Fain (now merged with Mordeth) was attacked by Machin Shin. The Black Wind then fled him, presumably because it had acquired his desire to hunt Rand.

Why do you assume they are the same?

He still wouldn't have the Forsaken Mark that forces Shadowspawn to obey. *NM* - 20/11/2009 10:54:39 PM 183 Views
Perhaps he can re-create it now that Sammael has been absorbed by Mashadar. *NM* - 21/11/2009 01:13:04 AM 201 Views
I see no reason to believe that, if the best evidence for it is that it is not impossible. *NM* - 21/11/2009 04:03:08 AM 238 Views
I think it's an original idea though *NM* - 21/11/2009 10:13:45 AM 191 Views
Doesn't he still have the mark of the Dark One from being Tracker Fain? *NM* - 20/11/2009 11:00:18 PM 202 Views
That would be different from the Forsaken Mark - 21/11/2009 02:37:34 AM 470 Views
He can still bully and intimidate them into obeying - 21/11/2009 06:07:35 AM 448 Views

My mini-theory has to do with Mordeth/Mashadar choosing Sammael as a new vessel for itself. - 23/11/2009 05:40:00 PM 474 Views
Hmmm - 24/11/2009 03:08:36 AM 509 Views
I think that Sammael presents advantages that Fain's body doesn't. - 24/11/2009 02:25:16 PM 478 Views
But Fain wants to kill "al'Thor" himself. - 24/11/2009 02:57:29 PM 404 Views
