He's done fine so far, IMO Isaac Send a noteboard - 23/11/2009 10:53:14 PM
Because, honestly, if he is going to change something because he didn't like how RJ wanted the scene to be written, he might as well drop Robert Jordan from the title page and just say 'As interpreted and modified by Brandon Sanderson'.

Especially since this scene had been foreshadowed for quite a while! Does anyone recall that saying about when it rains while the sun is out? The answer was that it's because the Dark One was supposedly spanking Semirhage. I think this sort of brought her part in the story back full circle.

I'm sure he'll stick to everything RJ specifically noted, though lets keep in mind that from a realistic point of view RJ probably hadn't flushed everything out and might easily have left vague or even contradictory notes on stuff that represented his own brainstorming, I'm sure RJ wrote many a scene then later changed them because he didn't like it when it was done, most writers do that. Ironically BS is likely to be truer to RJ's notes than RJ himself would have been had he written AMOL himself, since if something in those notes just doesn't flow write with the story RJ could have scrapped it whereas BS is likely to try to make it work.

I don't think he meant literally "like" that scene. Cadsuane's not going to get switched/spanked/etc - 23/11/2009 09:23:37 PM 543 Views
