I think that Sammael presents advantages that Fain's body doesn't. RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 24/11/2009 02:25:16 PM
I think Fain can shapeshift and we only saw a few aspects of his abilities during the most bizarre scenes in the early series. Mordeth is a spiritual force that took over Fain's body - I can see Mashadar attempting to escape using Sammael's channeling capabilities in a similar way. It's all rough, of course, but I think this would be very similar to what Fain was doing during TGH when he took control over a force of darkfriend, Fades and Trollocs using intimidation and his own Mashadar powers. Rather than have to kill Fades to intimidate Trollocs, Fain/Mordeth could more easily take on Sammael's physical body - especially since we were expressly told by RJ that the destruction of Shadar Logoth did not weaken Fain/Mordeth.

I recall during TGH that Fain somehow made Machin Shin clog all the gates that Rand and his party tried to use, hence my idea that it may be connected. I think Mordeth/Mashadar is trying to supplant the Dark One using It's/His own forces.

He still wouldn't have the Forsaken Mark that forces Shadowspawn to obey. *NM* - 20/11/2009 10:54:39 PM 183 Views
Perhaps he can re-create it now that Sammael has been absorbed by Mashadar. *NM* - 21/11/2009 01:13:04 AM 201 Views
I see no reason to believe that, if the best evidence for it is that it is not impossible. *NM* - 21/11/2009 04:03:08 AM 238 Views
I think it's an original idea though *NM* - 21/11/2009 10:13:45 AM 191 Views
Doesn't he still have the mark of the Dark One from being Tracker Fain? *NM* - 20/11/2009 11:00:18 PM 202 Views
That would be different from the Forsaken Mark - 21/11/2009 02:37:34 AM 470 Views

My mini-theory has to do with Mordeth/Mashadar choosing Sammael as a new vessel for itself. - 23/11/2009 05:40:00 PM 474 Views
