They also think in a completely different way to adults, which could be handy (Noal and Thom are alike in enough ways).
However, I think Noal needs a redemption after what Ishy put him through - this will be it.
Though I foresee a bit of mistaken identity - Noal goes in to rescue Moiraine, and she thinks that he is Thom and has aged by decades, and therefore that she has missed 20 or so years in the real world.
