Argh. I'm not going to argue anymore. I'm not saying that you're wrong.

I'm just saying that the 90% of Wot that has been based on military buildup, political maneuvres and the gathering of channelers has all been for nothing, then.

All that will matter is Rand's internal struggle.

That will be incredibly lame.

A story about the War of Power would have been far more entertaining then, or even the Trolloc Wars.

All this incredible build-up, for 3000 years, and 12 books, only for Rand to cross some emotional rubicon.

Who was the focal point of the Strike at Shayol Ghul... Lews Therin and the Companions, or the 10,000 warmen who went along. The warmen were the distraction for the Blight while Lews Therin sealed it up.

It's going to be the same with the Final Battle. Rand will enter the Pit of Doom and have some sort of battle with Moridin. The rest of the world will be off at some token battle, but as soon as Rand destroys Moridin and seals off the Dark One, it's likely that every Trolloc will suddenly die, or run away, or be swallowed by some earthquake. It will be very LOTR.

The Dragon has metaphysical power, especially to bend the Pattern. It's not a military thing.
