When Sheriam said "Never expected it of her." She could have been refering to Verin betraying the Black, but it is equally likely that she never expected Verin to BE Black.

And Verin simply did a lot of detective work. If she WAS on the Supreme Council, how the hell did it take all this time to compile her book? And could a member of the Supreme Council really go around doing as much as she has? I would assume their superiors would be keeping an even tighter leash on them than on the rest of the Blacks in these times.


after all, being in leadership implies that you're good at getting results. it would not make sense to keep a tight rein on someone who shows that they are capable of accomplishing the group's goals if they are left to their own devices...
