I believe the conditions were open it after 10 days or stay in Caemlyn for 30.
For all we know the letter can say "Stay in Caemlyn for 30 days." She could know of something that's gonna happen and all Mat has to do is stay and since he's Taveren the rest will take care of itself.
I doubt that it's that simple of a message but who knows.
Anyway I do believe that it has something to do with the shadow.
I actually hadn't thought about the Black Tower, though I could see him walking in alone with his ashanderie(spelling?).
I actually do have a theory of my own. It takes into consideration Mat's stay in Caemlyn as well as Verin's connection with the shadow. It even has something to do with Mat being Taveren.
There is a Darkfriend in Caemlyn who Mat has been in the same place as twice before. The first time, she tried to kill him. The second time, Mat spotted her and when he tried to follow her he ended up with a bloody ring stuck on his finger. This will be the third time when they'll be in the same place.
In my opinion Mili Skane is a pretty important Darkfriend seeing as how she was ordering Black Ajah sisters around. This points back at the Black Ajah of whom Verin had a comprehensive list of.
For these reasons I believe that it has something to do with the imprisoned Mili Skane.
