If you check out Brandon Sanderson's posts on facebook, you'll see that he is revealing not just the names of real life people he will be putting in the book, but also he gives a little bit of background information on the characters. For example, I know for sure that ToM will cover the black tower and Asha'man. Some interesting stuff is on his facebook postings.
