What lies did Leanne tell? Really, there's no reason to dismiss a redemptive arc for Elaida. fionwe1987 Send a noteboard - 16/12/2009 10:48:09 PM
The last time Elaida was in such a tight spot (Alviarin begins to blackmail her), she raged for a time, before her complete belief in her Foretelling made her toughen up.

I have to wonder, given her previous behavior, if she will see this as the end of her hopes or merely as another inconvenience which she will</i? overcome because "prophesy" said so.

Maybe her misguided interpretations of prophesy will yet end up benefiting the Light, and ultimately lead to her redemption.

RJ was quite unforgiving with these things. Just like Liandrin will never break the shield on her and Galina will never leave the Waste. Even non-df's who are selfish or petty see long lasting punishments... Amathera will never be Panarch again, and while she seemingly has found love and a life, she's "been put in her place", Siuan and Leane both suffered dramatic loss in OP Strength for their lying and meddling etc...

I imagine the next we see of Suffa she'll be a good damane, probably in Tuon's personal retinue and maybe with more control of her Foretelling :)

You're forgetting that Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne didn't "break" Moghedien. - 17/12/2009 07:48:14 PM 451 Views
good point. I agree on the difficulty of learning from the damane *NM* - 17/12/2009 06:20:51 AM 254 Views
