The point is that they did see some of the Forsaken. Therefore it's odd that Bair says 'So this is what one of the Shadowsouled looks like' as if she's never seen one.
More like Nynaeve's encounter with Asmodean outside of Rhuidien.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
