Only one problem I can think of... Phelix Send a noteboard - 21/12/2009 06:51:21 AM

I think our theories might be similar.

I believe that neurotransmitters and other chemicals play a role in channeling, which is why some people need gestures to open the pathways required to form a weave, and why channeling starts in early adulthood.

The Oath is like a weave of Compulsion, and that would inherently harm your brain's pathways. It interferes with the One Power and the way it works and thus interferes with the slowing process.

Maybe.

The use of the word "harm." If it harms your pathways, why do the effects go away when you remove the oaths/are stilled? Also, I am unsure of why an interference in neurotransmitters would affect how a person's body aged.

I really like the bit about neurotransmitters and pathways required for weaving certain things. In fact, I think I'll borrow it and add it to my personal understanding of channeling and the Oath Rod.
I was Phelix on wotmania, I will always be Phelix in the "real" world, and now I am Phelix on RAFO.

You will make all kinds of mistakes; but as long as you are generous and true and also fierce you cannot hurt the world or even seriously distress her.- Churchill
