I don't think they could defeat Lanfear. We have proof that she is far too skilled for that! What I said is that the quote shows us that in Raw strength the 2 would be stronger than her by a large enough margin to be considered by Moiraine to be "Overwhelming" ... so was Alivia when she faced Cyndane ... and she could barely hold her own!

Moiraine thinks they might overwhelm Semirhage. That could mean they are equal to Semirhage. Or Moiraine thinks they could overwhelm Lanfear - making them stronger than her if they link. It's too vague. It at least means that they can challenge a Forsaken if they work together.

I've been saying that for years, it's obvious that he wanted it to be vague so he had the maximum freedom to write.

Yip

She thinks Nynaeve may have been able to split her flows a dozen ways and knows at this point she would no be able to do this

Ugh, then why the whole kitten analogy earlier from her?

Show's she grown considerably since TSR and is now capable of matching feats incredible skill, something only the strongest channelers could do

Sure, she can weave 14 flows, but it's not evidence that she's high up in the Power. She might be strong in the five Powers.

Just the fact that she's already as stronge as any sister in the Tower as soon as she begins channeling (TGH). Or that she's nearly as strong as Rand in TSR according to Egwene if you take the quote to mean nothing but strength. If she's not up in the 85%+ range of her strength early on she'd be massively stronger than even Rand.

We've discussed this.

I don't think the evidence supports that. There are Women like Cadsuane, Bode, Nicole, Kerene, Meilyn and Therava all between Moiraine and Egwene, and the weakest of them (that we can map to) is a "Sharp increase" above Moiraine. Then you get at least 1 other woman before you even get to Cadsuane who is probably weaker yet than Bode! From Egwene to Nynaeve we have 3 women we know to be stronger and that margin is undefined. You choose to make it very wide, I think that doesn't match up with any kind of Bell Curve distribution. I also think it's ridiculous to assume RJ would make one of his primary protagonists only "average".

Egwene isn't average - she has rare strength and the combined strength of a few women. I see no problem. She's also got several rare Talents. Either way, Elza says that Cadsuane must be using an angreal because she's channeling more than Merise and she combined - which means that Cadsuane is weaker than two Aes Sedai. Thus we have Moiraine at 25, Cadsuane at 30, Bode at 30, Nicola at 40 and Egwene at 50. Egwene is stronger than two Aes Sedai, as reaffirmed by Aviendha. Liandrin thinks that three Sisters can overwhelm Moghedien, and two can hold Nynaeve but not defeat her in battle - a strong sign that Nynaeve is at least as strong as three women. 1..2..3... that's the gap I usually put in.

That doesn't change what I said. Those men are still stronger than their female counterparts.

Sigh. What does that strength mean if women can bridge the gap to the same degree? It's like saying that men and women can throw a ball the same distance but men have bigger arms - the arms mean nothing if the result is the same.

Now who's got a whole mass of speculation Lanfear had a whole lot more skill at her disposal, and Rand from his own POV was also holding back because he didn't want to kill her!

I'm merely pointing out that Lanfear can shield Rand. She has the power to do so if he's holding his maximum.
