well I think you've discovered something even more important

When we're discussing with gate/ways, we are talking about an spatial anomaly - it is possible that a cuendillar door frame wouldn't hold a gate open (after all, a channeler might just need the skill or knowledge to tie off a gateway weave), because the cuendillar might just be shunted to another spatial dimension. It wouldn't be "destroyed", but it would vanish when the gateway vanishes.

I'm still not sure if cuendillar would be "destroyed" or "remain"

No - cuendillar just gets stronger the more powerful a force you use against it

Why would this mean that the gateway weave doesn't need to be maintained? *NM*

Because even if it wasn't tied off, it'd get stuck around the cuendillar doorway, unable to close. *NM*
