So, what did he have? A knife? A gun? *Gasp* A Knife-gun??
The victim said he took his wallet out of his jacket pocket and gave it to the suspect who ran off in an unknown direction. He also threw 'The Great Hunt', a fantasy book he had, at the suspect and ran towards the mall.
So, hang on, first he hands over his wallet and then, as the mugger is running away he chucks his book at him and then he runs away? Mental! Or perhaps he was trying to say to the robber: "Forget my 40 bucks, a good book is the only thing of true worth in this world."
It's a very funny story either way; at least now, whenever I'm walking home late at night, I'll know that I'm safe as long as I have a copy of WoT with me!
