How would WoT characters in "The Gathering Storm" answer the famous riddle: "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

Rand: "I don’t care about the chicken. Chickens are a trap. It probably crossed the road to get out of a trap. I wish I could cross the road. But I can’t. Soon Car-mon Gaidon will run over ALL the chickens. Then they’ll wish they had not crossed the road. It would probably be kinder to just fry them all with the Choedan Kal. Make an end to the chickens. All of them. For good."
+
Rand in “Veins of Gold”: *chuckling* “Cross the road! Hee hee! I never thought of it that way before. Heh heh. That’s pretty funny. Ha ha! Chickens! Ahahahaha!” (Laughs out loud and returns the decorations and presents to Whoville)
+
Egwene: "To get to the other side!" (gales of laughter from the sisters in the Tower)
Suana: “That is a truly wonderful joke! You are so funny!”
Ferane: “Absolutely hilarious! It is such a logical joke, and so subtle and cogent all rolled into one! Only an advanced mind could come up wth such a joke!”
Egwene: “Elaida doesn’t tell jokes, does she?”
Silvianna: “What are you saying child?”
Egwene: “I would think that times are hard enough without a humorless Amyrlin dragging down the Tower’s spirits. *Another seed planted. I really won them over with my joke, didn’t I? I was like a stand-up comedian, a veritable Queen of Comedy; brilliant, funny, trenchant and a relevant commentator on modern life! I must have made dozens of sisters went their shifts!*
+
Mat: "Women! They drive men to drink, and chickens to cross the road!"
+
Perrin: "Because the Asha’man could not make gateways for all the chickens. We have just too many chickens to take with us! And I have to inspect the chicken crosswalks. And no, Arganda, your chicken will have to wait its turn."
+
Faile: "Because I lured it into an ambush! And I’m not telling Perrin of my delicious snack, either."
+
Cadsuane: "One is not amused by these jokes, boy. The chicken should have listened to me. It is getting out of control."
+
Verin: "It didn’t want to cross the road, but eventually it gave in to the will of the Pattern. Read my letter, if I don’t come back. It explains everything."
+
Elaida: "Shtupid, hic, chicken. Let’sh pull out its feathersh ad make it shwear feal-hic-fealty. I will be obeyed by ALL chick-ick-ens."
+
Mayor of Hilderstap: “Because it knows to get over there before the sun sets!”
+
Min: "How should I know? I’m worried about Rand! Oh, wait. To get to the other side!"
Cadsuane: “Very good, girl. Fool Merise couldn’t figure out a chicken’s motives if her life depended on it.”
+
Aviendha: "Motherflaming Wise Ones asking me stupid questions! No matter how I answer this, I know I'm going to be shamed."
+
Elayne: "What? I’m just relieved."
+
Tuon: “It is an omen! Plainly we cannot trust the Dragon Reborn.”
+
Winston Churchill: "Because the Germans are getting too powerful! The Americans just sit on their arses and let us do all the work! I warned the House of Commons in 1926 that if we continued on this course, surely we would see a chicken migration such as the world as never seen! But the French amour for frog legs seduced them into indolent indifference, the Hun built his autobahns and the poultry flocked across it in an exodus of Biblical proportion."
+
fionwe1987: “I think Egwene has really proved she is the greatest chicken cook in the world. Why else would Verin have given HER the recipe and the special chicken pot? “
darius sedai: “And by cooking the chicken at dinner time, she has proven that she alone possesses the extraordinary insight to make proper use of something as important as this recipe.”
