Egwene's only dilemma regarding power is how much of it she can get and how fast. She never has a moment where she considers that another might be more suitable (for example, the Gray that organised the Tower during the attack, rather than running off leading novices into danger).


I don't really get this because one of Egwene's big moments in TGS is thinking and then says as much when she confronted Elaida at the Sitter banquet. Part of her character arc was accurately thinking that she was needed in her position because there were no suitable leaders in the White Tower, so whereas before she was trying to watch her back while being set up by the Rebels, by the end of her trials and tribulations, she really did believe that if necessary, she would gladly be Stilled and executed if it meant the Tower could have a better leader than she. It's this belief that enabled her to transcend her increasingly harsh punishments.
