And a few days after, they ask to help battle the rogue Senahcan and the only reason they are not permitted is because they're Novices, not because they can't.
It seems to me that once a Sul'dam touches the source, they will be easier to train because they already know the concept of weaving and know the forms of weaves.
Tuon might be nowhere near full strength at TG, but if she were to decide to channel, she won't exactly be similar to Egwene as a Novice.
