But the past knowledge is worthless for this current encounter. Rand was defeated in each of his past/mirror lives and incarnations. Remember, Lews Therin ranted about how the Seal was a mistake, that was originally meant to buy time, not defeat the Dark One.

All indications are that defeating the Dark One will involve neither channeling nor knowledge from a past life.
