RJ's hint to the correct theory saidarisnowtainted Send a noteboard - 05/03/2010 01:52:31 PM
I recall Q&A where RJ confirmed that the correct theory was in fact out there. IIRC his statement was based on fan letters. He stated that most of the letters identified the wrong culprit/s and those who were correct were in the severe minority.

With this, you can throw out any suspects who were supported by the majority opinion.

So, the list can be narrowed down to suspects in the minority opinion at the time. But you have to be reasonable--i.e. no "Bela did it" theories.

I think this helps strengthen the case for Slayer, who was a minority opinion for quite a while.

I'm not sure how popular Lanfear was at the time.

Moreover, i think this weakens the majority's support for Graendal. IIRC Sammael was also initially widely theorized either with Graendal or independantly and those theories subsequently lost steam as his being "toast" was reinforced and accepted.

i'll try to find the RJ quote but maybe you guys recall this?
