You never did answer the questions I asked in the post.
How does any of this affect you?
Is there a problem with someone having an interest in something that doesn't affect them?

I'm not so sure that this doesn't affect non-US citizens though; trends in the US often end up establishing themselves elsewhere. I'm not saying that is always a bad thing, but it undeniably happens.

US politiccal decisions don't just affect US citizens; the US is a superpower; decisions affect people (and things) all over the world. If someone is interested in current events, or in the way the world is going, how can they not have at least some interest in US politics?
