OK, so I dont really mean for this to be a rant, but if it is I do apologise....
no need to. This is a good place to vent, I did so, too.

It really makes me wonder why I even bother being so nice & helpful to people, maybe I will stop & think whether I really should get involved with anything next time.
Don´t!!! It´s people like you, people that do bother being nice that make this world be a better place. Don´t let some dumbasses destroy it. That would be liek letting them win.

I pity these people, but I am pretty sure they will be able to live with themselves
Living with themselves (i.e. people like them) seems to be the worst punishment I can imagine.
