~Grins like a fool~ Tashmere Send a noteboard - 06/09/2009 01:54:22 AM
Consider it "put on hold". ~hopes this causes calm to emerge~
Seriously though, I do like her style and if it translates over, I'm sure I will enjoy them. What really makes a novel for me is not just a plot, but dialogue and character interplay and Bujold is a master at that.

It gives me great joy to pass on something that I really enjoyed. I will be interested to see what you think. Her sense of humor emerges more in the third book and on. The best of the series, "A Civil Campaign" was my favorite Christmas present EVER. And it was only a paperback. I have gotten an absurd amount of enjoyment out of that book. There was one part where I laughed out loud (by myself) for five minutes straight. If you appreciate her sense of humor and get that far in the series, you will know exactly what part I am talking about when you get to it. I knew when my husband got to it because he did the same thing. Except it was only for about three or four minutes.

So much for being understated. You may not be effected the same, but I think you will have fun with it at least.

Just expect to smile.

:)
Tash

P.S. So what other books have you enjoyed? And have we met before? Did you go by another name on the other board? You sound interesting.
