I kind of feel like a film to book adaption is not....really a book? Spriteling Send a noteboard - 27/05/2010 09:16:25 PM
We know there is often a lot of controversy over book to film adaptations, but we don't often talk about things the other way round. I've read one decent one (the book version of The Piano is better than the film, imo) but don't know of any others.

Can this "genre" ever succeed?

Have you read good examples?

I don't know how to explain it, exactly. The movie was there, and the book is basically just writing down the dialogue and adding in some scenery and stuff. So, it's not a true creative work, like writing your own novel is.
