This is the best one so far. Everything is coming together now for Wurts' writing, and her characters are more realistic, doing things that make sense for them as written.
There are some lovely twists and turns, and some moments of real delight for me in this book. I love Sethvir, and I am so pleased (again) that Dakar becomes sensible. That was a great piece of plot from Wurts, having Asandir send Dakar to Arithon's care.
The books are now quicker to read, more fun, and (thankfully) there less use of italics.
Plots are coming together, more are being weaved, and it's all very exciting!
I do like what's happening with the Koriani; Morriel is pretty cool.
One thing I really like about Wurts' characters is that none of them are 2-dimensional. They are all deep, multi-faceted, working with complications and contradictions. It makes the books more interesting to read.
The only thing that hasn't really changed is how much I hate Lysaer. He's so annoying. Gah.

See, I like these books, but looking back at it, the first book seems... underdeveloped.
