I also bought "Dead Souls" on my last trip to the used bookstore. The name sounded a little odd but after reading part of the foreword it sounded like something I might like.
I figured I would read it in place of "Buddha's Little Finger" which sounded like it might not be something I would really enjoy. Also, I have just discovered George Eliot and have fallen in love with her and her writing. Have you read anything by her, Greg?
